Week 5

This week in technology we went over the focused education resources page and learnt about all the tools provided on this website. Overall this is an amazing resource to use in the classroom and it allows for students to engage with a variety of sources. I personally really enjoyed the 4 canoe ressource. This resource is similar to a digital library and it has stories on different Indigenous groups. I like that students would be able to explore on the website and learn about Indigenous people and culture.

I also appreciate that the focused ed website comes with a variety of subjects designed for all grades. There are resources that are focused towards the younger age groups such as the videos provided on protecting students’ privacy and their passwords. These videos put digital literacy in a context that young students can understand. There are also more complicated topics provided such as Gale global issues in context which covers serious topics about our world and what is going on around us. 

Overall I think that the focused education resource page is a website that I will use as a teacher. It allows for students to explore and grow on many subjects while also making content available for all age groups.
